THE CALM BEFORE THE STORM
We’re now inside the final 24 hours before the 2023/24 Premier League campaign kicks off and, therefore, so does FPL. Managers are contemplating whether to stick to their well-thought-out plans or make that last-minute gut-feeling move.
The final week of friendlies has seen Erling Haaland be quiet in the Community Shield, Marcus Rashford score when up front for Manchester United, Ollie Watkins net twice and Joao Pedro secure penalty status for Brighton and Hove Albion.
Our comprehensive pre-season guide and incredibly handy minutes tracker go into further detail but Dominik Szoboszlai has taken some set-pieces off Trent Alexander-Arnold and Bryan Mbeumo had a slight injury scare. At least we know several £4.0m defenders will be starters.
