✍️ THE SCOUT REPORT
Happy New Year to you, from each Fantasy Football Scout staff member. We’re almost at the end of the congested festive schedule, with this weekend being the final round of action before the mini FA Cup break.
This gives more time for owners of Morgan Rogers and Matheus Cunha to figure out what to do. That’s 61.1% and 38.9% of The Great and The Good managers. You see, Cunha has been hit with a two-match ban for the post-Ipswich scuffle, while both Rogers and Jurrien Timber picked up their fifth yellow card. At least Nicolas Jackson has been able to successfully pass the threshold.
Those intending to immediately use their second Wildcard can swiftly solve these problems. Otherwise, it’s about identifying the best Cunha replacement. Alexander Isak won’t stop scoring, Cody Gakpo has started seven consecutive Liverpool matches and Zophar likes both Chris Wood and Gabriel Jesus. He also picks out the best Newcastle trio, with the Magpies in sensational form.
Lewis Hall is part of that, joining Antonee Robinson and Daniel Munoz as highly appealing defenders. Combined with Trent Alexander-Arnold’s 15-point haul and the eternal potential of Gabriel, FPL Family’s Sam wonders if it’s time for managers to play with a back four.
Meanwhile, Captain Sensible backs Mohamed Salah because he’s somehow reached 202 points in just 18 matches, with upcoming pre-deadline articles containing FPL General’s thoughts, Spot the Differential and a half-term report on this season.
