✍️ THE SCOUT REPORT

What’s helpful to FPL managers looking to stock up on Double Gameweek 25 assets is that Liverpool, Man City and Luton all have a superb-looking Gameweek 24 fixture beforehand. So these three sides dominate our Scout Squad and Watchlist picks, as FPL General hopes to stack up with his two free transfers. Although unfashionable, another boost to buying Luton assets came via Wednesday’s announcement that the Hatters will also play twice in Gameweek 28.

Their wing-back Alfie Doughty’s six successive returns are partly due to being on set-pieces, Chiedozie Ogbene has differential potential, whilst in-form Ross Barkley could be a popular replacement for Anthony Gordon. Not only injured, the Newcastle winger is on eight yellow cards.

Meanwhile, the appeal of Man City attackers is obvious – especially with the hope that this week’s early kick-off brings pre-deadline team leaks – and Erling Haaland is the leading armband candidate for both Captain Sensible and Rate My Team’s (RMT) algorithm. Phil Foden bagged a hat-trick on Monday night – stuck on the benches of both Pras and LTFPL Andy.

But it’s more complicated with Liverpool. While we await Mohamed Salah’s injury updates to assess Diogo Jota and Darwin Nunez, the Reds won’t play in Gameweek 26. Pro Pundit Lateriser tries to help managers navigate this forest of blanks and doubles, knowing that West Ham v Aston Villa is now the third confirmed match of Gameweek 29. Another article from him will arrive before Saturday morning’s deadline, as will one from Zophar.

Elsewhere, congratulations to TFO and Mayanyi, our newly-crowned FFS Open Cup and FFS Members Cup champions.
