✍️ Welcome to the Fantasy Football Scout Bulletin - everything you need to know the day before the GW24 FPL deadline!
➡️ A big FPL event is about to take place, as it’s the first Double Gameweek of 2024/25. Scout Squad picks go in heavy on Liverpool and Everton players because they’ll be playing twice, also explaining why so many chips have been activated.
For example, this is the first occasion where Assistant Manager can be used. It allows you to spend £0.5m to £1.5m on a real-life boss and get extra points based on how his team does over the next three Gameweeks. With a couple of sides having four matches in that time, it’s one of the most logical times to deploy this brand-new chip.

Lateriser is considering it for now but fellow Pro Pundit Zophar doesn’t want to use it on David Moyes. In fact, both prefer the idea of giving a Triple Captain armband to Mohamed Salah. We’ve looked at the pros and cons of that, knowing that initial opponents Bournemouth are in superb form.
FPL General won’t be using either this week and is still sad at how Gameweek 23’s transfer unfolded. Meanwhile, FPL Family’s Sam already utilised the Triple Captain in October but has a solid strategy in place for using her remaining chips.
Congratulations to the 500,000 that bought Cody Gakpo in time for his 16-point haul, five of which belong to The Great and the Good. But should we be concerned about the Dutchman’s away form? Of the rest, two were unlucky enough to buy Dominic Calvert-Lewin just before his hamstring injury. Still, there are other Everton names worthy of some attention.
As well as regular weekly coverage of the Fantasy EFL game, we’ve reported on other notable FPL events from the past week. Cheap goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski was benched for West Ham, while Bryan Mbeumo missed a penalty but was allowed to successfully re-take it. Myles Lewis-Skelly’s controversial red card has been overturned, too.
Still to come before the deadline are the latest editions of Captain Sensible and Spot the Differential, plus a fixture frisk.
