✍️ THE SCOUT REPORT
A lot of pent-up Double Gameweek 28 emotions exploded during Wednesday’s thriller between Bournemouth and Luton. All but one of the Great and the Good captained Dominic Solanke, who eventually brought some slight relief, before centre-back Illia Zabarnyi gave joy to 10 by scoring his first goal in three years.
However, only eight teams will participate in Blank Gameweek 29, splitting the FPL community on whether it’s a good time to Free Hit. We’ve looked at the pros and cons of activating this chip.
For example, it allows one-week punts on exciting differentials like Brennan Johnson and Callum Hudson-Odoi. The latter is backed to return to Nottingham Forest’s starting XI at Luton – Scout Squad pick Anthony Elanga too – as Deputy Editor Tom seems set to double up on Forest attackers. Yet his selection depends on the status of Ollie Watkins, as the popular forward picked up a midweek injury.
When you add this to John McGinn’s suspension, things suddenly look promising for West Ham pair Jarrod Bowen and Mohammed Kudus. Zophar talks about the latter in this Q&A session, also advising non-Free Hitters on who to target for potential points hits.
Still to come before Saturday’s deadline are comparisons between Spurs full-backs, Forest midfielders and the weekly piece from Lateriser. Fellow Pro Pundit Simon March wonders why the xG statistic often lets us down, whilst this weekend brings the qualifying round for our second FFS Members Cup of the season.
