✍️ THE SCOUT REPORT

Well done to the 477,386 who successfully used their Triple Captain chip on Erling Haaland’s Gameweek 2 hat-trick. A trio of ‘Great and the Good’ managers were amongst these, although Mark Sutherns was able to record 93 points without owning the Norwegian at all. Captain Sensible backs Haaland again for Saturday.

With new rules letting FPL managers now save up to five free transfers, former champion Simon March asks if it will actually change how we play the game. Although, aside from FPL General, many will find it hard to collect any transfers at the moment – first there were Jarell Quansah problems, then Dominic Solanke’s injury and now the abandonment of Christopher Nkunku.

The Chelsea attacker played just seven minutes as Cole Palmer and Noni Madueke ran riot at Wolves, causing many to get rid. We’ve looked at Nkunku’s best midfield replacements. Zophar prefers Morgan Rogers and Emile Smith Rowe but, controversially, states he’d not select Haaland if using a Gameweek 3 Wildcard.

Lateriser isn’t doing his until the Gameweek 6 fixture swing but some like Tom Johnson have already activated and have been provided with three suggested drafts. Each takes advantage of Aston Villa’s superb-looking fixture run that tops the Season Ticker, puts their players high on our Watchlist and ensures Ollie Watkins is a unanimous Scout Squad pick. Therefore our other Tom picks out his favourite assets from this Champions League side.

On this real-life transfer deadline day, we have a live blog to report on all the late moves that could have an impact on FPL plans. Last week, Sam Szmodics moved to Ipswich – to the frustration of Fantasy EFL managers – and already has a goal already to his name. He’s picked out as a good differential.

Speaking of this new 72-team game, our regular weekly analysis includes weekend and EFL Cup notes, expert picks for Gameweek 4, team reveals and a look at captaincy.

Still to come before this deadline is a look at Federico Chiesa’s move to Liverpool and more words from Pro Pundits.
