✍️ THE SCOUT REPORT

After dominating the thoughts of FPL managers for several weeks, Double Gameweek 32 is finally upon us, where Newcastle and Crystal Palace feature twice.

The average top 100k team currently has 4.551 of their players, with highly-picked Magpies assets including Alexander Isak and Monday night heroes Jacob Murphy and Tino Livramento. Palace offer last week’s scorers Jean-Philippe Mateta and Daniel Munoz. Their boss Oliver Glasner could be a great Assistant Manager option – just don’t pick the suspended Marc Guehi.

These are all part of The Great and the Good’s template, now that each of the 18 has Wildcarded between Gameweeks 29 and 31. Managers choosing a Gameweek 32 Wildcard will probably go for similar names and we’ve offered a few draft suggestions, based on various chip strategies. Though it would block using Triple Captain on Isak’s double.

Some may prefer to Bench Boost now, before activating Triple Captain in Gameweek 33, where Bukayo Saka and Omar Marmoush have two matches. It could even be saved for a possible May double but we won’t know about that until after Gameweek 34’s deadline.

What’s making it tough for boosters is the climate of rotations. Last weekend, we saw Cole Palmer and Joao Pedro benched, while Saka was an Arsenal substitute and Aston Villa mixed things up again. Pro Pundit Zophar has tried guessing how these two Champions League sides will line up on Saturday, where their matches are sandwiched between huge quarter-finals.

Villa’s first leg had Ollie Watkins on the bench, so he’s a unanimous Scout Squad pick. Such uncertainty is why Lateriser advises those without a Free Hit to avoid Arsenal and Villa completely, focusing on Newcastle, Nottingham Forest and Brighton instead.

As well as regular weekly coverage of the Fantasy EFL game, we’ve checked out round one of the latest FFS Members Cup, where all four former champions safely progressed.

There’s still time for Spot the Differential and Captain Sensible to come before Saturday morning’s deadline, plus the latest opinions of FPL General.
