✍️ THE SCOUT REPORT
Coinciding with this thrilling three-way race for the Premier League title is the exciting final straight of FPL’s 2023/24 campaign. Each of Arsenal, Liverpool and Man City play at home in Gameweek 33, with Pep Guardiola’s side having the standout match against Luton.
Seen limping in midweek, an update on Phil Foden is badly needed by his Fantasy owners. As for Erling Haaland, none of the 18 Great and the Good managers captained him last time but most probably will versus the Hatters, as both Captain Sensible and the Rate My Team (RMT) algorithm back him for the armband.
Now that Double Gameweek 37 has been confirmed, the Norwegian is also picked out as a good Triple Captain for those still with the chip. Another option is Bukayo Saka during Double Gameweek 34, although Lateriser has concerns over his game time.
FPL General will Free Hit that week and is therefore considering Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo as an immediate transfer, at home to Sheffield United. That fixture is why the Bees’ assets feature heavily in our Scout Squad picks. In fact, if people can forgive Sergio Reguilon for his infamous Blank Gameweek 29 exploits, he’s one of the most appealing budget defenders for these closing weeks.
Because, according to former champion Simon March, it’s here where FPL managers will need to know how to defeat their one-on-one rivals. Superb differentials like Simon Adingra and Dominik Szoboszlai could prove handy. Just don’t pick Douglas Luiz, whose tenth booking means he’s suspended for two matches.
Still to come before Saturday’s deadline is Zophar’s Q&A and a piece from Tom Freeman, plus a look at the next Fantasy Challenge, which gives bigger punishments to players who get carded. Additionally, it’s time for round four of the latest FFS Members Cup, where all former winners are already eliminated.
