Not only does this weekend gift football fans the FA Cup final and some exciting Fantasy EFL Play-off action – a game covered thoroughly by Scout - but we have the FPL season’s penultimate Gameweek, stretching from Friday to Tuesday.
The Wembley showdown makes decisions on Crystal Palace assets particularly difficult to make. Zophar thinks managers should keep last week’s double-digit heroes Eberechi Eze and Daniel Munoz but sell others, while Lateriser is already considering both the Colombian and West Ham wing-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka as initial 2025/26 targets.
It’s slightly more straightforward with Man City names, after Omar Marmoush was dropped against Southampton. Almost all of ‘The Great and the Good’ bosses sold him once news broke, mostly for Yoane Wissa. Naturally, the Brentford forward then blanked, but he still finds himself a unanimous Scout Squad pick this time, in a week where former Bee Ollie Watkins dominates discussions.
He and Morgan Rogers can exploit Tottenham’s high defensive line, before going at a second distracted Europa League finalist in Gameweek 38. So don’t expect either Ange Postecoglou or Ruben Amorim to pick up Assistant Manager table bonuses. Interestingly, one of the four FFS Members Cup semi-finalists will have this chip active in Gameweek 37 and another hasn’t yet triggered the Bench Boost.
Another contender in the intense race for Champions League qualification, Chelsea, must get by without suspended striker Nicolas Jackson. We’ve asked Tom Johnson, fan and content contributor, how they’ll subsequently line up. Let’s just say it adds appeal to differential Pedro Neto, someone worth punting on if you’re using a late Wildcard.
Meanwhile, we’ve picked out some of departing defender Trent Alexander-Arnold’s most memorable FPL hauls and, in further nostalgia, provided a link to ‘The Game Behind the Game’, a new documentary on the history of Fantasy Football. Still to come ahead of the deadline is Captain Sensible, plus the latest opinions of some Pro Pundits.
