✍️ THE SCOUT REPORT

Well done to all managers who’ve made it to this stage – FPL’s final weekend of the season. With a Sunday deadline meaning all 20 teams play simultaneously, it promises to be an exciting climax in terms of both the title race and – more importantly – the Fantasy landscape.

Gameweek 38 offers one more chance to shoot up the rankings by straying from the firmly established template. For example, although Erling Haaland is a safe captaincy choice, Pro Pundit Sam Bonfield will put her armband elsewhere. And buying the right differential can deliver massive rewards.

Knowing that Spurs specialise in final-day goal-fests, Az wants a rogue Brennan Johnson selection. He likes Leandro Trossard, as does Tom Freeman - a recommender of Eberechi Eze. That’s because weaknesses have been identified in the closing opponents of Crystal Palace and Liverpool. Therefore, Jean-Philippe Mateta and Cody Gakpo are unanimous Scout Squad picks.

Sticking with Liverpool, among Sunday’s narratives is the emotional farewell of manager Jurgen Klopp. We’ve looked back nostalgically at 10 memorable FPL moments from his tenure. As a passionate Anfield brings potential for a Mohamed Salah haul, which Zophar’s Q&A covers, the Egyptian makes this week’s Scout Picks line-up.

The XI also triples up on Arsenal and Man City but is without the hurt Ederson. Injury doubts for Anthony Gordon and Kevin De Bruyne will make their owners nervous so, in the meantime, those affected should check out former champion Simon March’s lessons learnt from 2023/24.

Still to come before this deadline are Lateriser’s opinions, plus a catch-up on how The Great and The Good fared in Gameweek 37. There’ll even be a quiz that reflects on this FPL campaign. Meanwhile, we’ve announced the winner of our FFS Members Cup and checked out Fantasy Challenge, which restricts competitors to one player per club
