✍️ THE SCOUT REPORT

The heavy Wildcard usage of Gameweek 6 was reflected by ‘The Great and the Good’, where 13 of 18 managers activated such a precious chip. However, the template fared so badly that the mini-league’s top scorer was non-user Ben. That’s despite owning Bruno Fernandes’ red card, which was then revoked so that he avoids a suspension.

You see, Ben received the huge 25 points from four-goal Cole Palmer, as did only two of the 13 Wildcarders including a delighted FPL General. Already armed with six strikes and four assists, we ask if the Chelsea attacker should be deemed essential, regardless of tough-looking opponents being on the horizon. Zophar says not yet, whilst agreeing with Captain Sensible that Erling Haaland should get this week’s armbands. One of our three drafts for a Gameweek 7 Wildcard attempts to fit in both of these plus Bukayo Saka, who did everything but score against Leicester.

Those planning to use the chip now or soon might consider Phil Foden as a top-class differential. The Man City midfielder started in midweek, played very well and is a new Watchlist entry, aided by the champions’ strong fixture run. Brentford’s also look good, where Bryan Mbeumo has five goals in six matches.

Meanwhile, over a longer period, Spurs sit near the top of our Season Ticker. FPL Family’s Sam therefore wants to invest in their attack, with several appealing contenders like Dominic Solanke – unanimous in our Scout Squad picks.

Pro Pundit Lateriser also dropped by, wondering if the patience required when saving up to five free transfers is a good or bad thing.

As well as regular weekly coverage of the new Fantasy EFL game was comprehensive Champions League preparation and predicting these upcoming matches via Sleeper’s Pick’em contest.

Still to come before this deadline are the thoughts of Tom Freeman, plus Spot the Differential.
